Civic Action

  • co-founder & community outreach coordinator – Savannah Trash Warriors

    August 2018 – Present | Savannah, Georgia Area

    • Managing 6-20 volunteers on a weekly/monthly basis by providing tools, education and cleanup protocols before and during litter pickup events

    • Organizing future cleanups by working with neighborhood associations and other civic/nonprofit groups in Savannah

    • Collecting data on litter pickup collections that the city of Savannah and local businesses can utilize when making policy changes and creating more sustainable business practices

    • Sharing our story with the community and inspiring others to get involved by sharing before/after photos of our cleanups and highlighting our volunteers

    • In 2019, the Savannah Trash Warriors:

      • Organized over 50 cleanups throughout Savannah

      • Picked up over 1,000 buckets of trash

      • Picked up over 500 buckets of recycling

      • Volunteered over 400 hours

      • & saved the city an estimated $9,635.00 (The monetary value of hours worked comes from a statistic from United Way of the Coastal Empire that one volunteer hour in Georgia is valued at $25.)

      • Creating a web presence for KSB to communicate our mission and inspire action towards litter reduction in city of Savannah

      • Documenting and visualizing adopted clean-up locations throughout Savannah via Google Maps to highlight volunteers and educate potential volunteers on locations that still need to be adopted

      1. Collaborated with a team of board members to organize KSB's annual Great Savannah Cleanup for 2 consecutive years, activating dozens of Savannah neighborhoods

    • Creating and implementing a content marketing strategy to create domain authority and position Green Badger as a thought leader in green construction

    • Managing a CRM with 5,000+ contacts to ensure that marketing and sales have accurate data to have meaningful conversations with prospects and customers

    • Implementing, managing, and analyzing marketing campaigns to reach multiple audiences within the green building arena

    • Designed print and web materials to communicate sustainability best practices to different departments within Gulfstream

    • Coordinated an internal Plastic Free July campaign in which 150+ Gulfstream employees pledged to reduce their plastic use during the month of July and worked with the Community Investment team to organize a beach cleanup event with 30+ employees

    • Worked with the Employee Communications department to design print and web materials for Gulfstream’s internal United Way fundraising campaign for 2018

    • Worked with the Real Estate & Facilities Department to redesign campus maps with updated building information and point-of-contact information for which Asset Managers are responsible for which buildings on Savannah campuses

    • Collaborated with the Safety/Environmental Coordinator for Gulfstream’s Global Property Services to develop presentations for safety briefings and ramp access training for Gulfstream contractors which consisted of traveling to different campuses and capturing photography and video to communicate safety procedures

    • Worked on rebranding for the Student Leadership Program, which consisted of researching the program, attending leadership events, interviewing program participants and designing brand assets based on research findings
